YouTube and technique videos vs Form Fighter on your own film

YouTube tutorials can show a model. Your own video shows your rep.

Tutorials can teach ideas and demonstrate movement. They cannot inspect your own return, guard position, visible path, or recovery. Form Fighter is designed to help you review one visible movement pattern in your own practice, within the limits of a phone camera.

When YouTube is useful

Learning a new idea, seeing a model path, or studying concepts between sessions. Tutorials are excellent teachers of what “good” can look like on someone else.

When filming yourself is useful

Checking whether your hand returns, your guard drops, your kick chambers, or your path loops. Only your own film shows your rep.

How they work together

Watch a tutorial for the idea, then film 5–10 of your own reps against one visible success criterion. Do not try to copy a highlight reel mid-round.

What neither can guarantee

Power, contact, sparring effectiveness, medical safety, or perfect form. Phone video and tutorials share that ceiling.

How Form Fighter fits

Form Fighter watches your throw, names one visible correction, and can drill it hands-free — then you re-test. It does not replace a coach, and it does not claim tutorials are useless.

A useful self-review loop

Pick one visible success criterion. Film 5–10 reps. Review only that criterion. Drill it. Film again. That loop beats watching another tutorial mid-round.
