Form FighterSolo practice
Get feedback on your shadowboxing with just a phone
Solo video feedback can help identify one visible movement pattern to practice. It cannot measure power, contact, or whether a strike would land.
How solo shadowboxing feedback works
- Film a short round or a few isolated reps
- Review the clip for one clear, repeating leak
- Name one visible correction
- Drill that correction with intention
- Run it back and compare the next set
What to film for a useful read
- Short round or isolated reps — not a marathon blur
- Full body in frame
- Room to move without clipping the frame
- Side-on framing when depth matters
- Visible feet through the strike
- One fighter clearly in shot
What to look for on camera
- Path — does the limb travel on a clean line or arc?
- Extension — does the shot finish without collapsing posture?
- Return — does the hand or leg come home promptly?
- Guard — does the other hand stay up?
- Chamber — for kicks, is there a visible load before extension?
- Visible height / rise — relative bands, not impact quality
- Recovery / base — can you throw again from a usable stance?
What phone video cannot tell you
Power, force, bag contact, target penetration, opponent timing, and medical safety are outside what a phone can measure. Read the full limits on what a phone camera cannot measure.
How Form Fighter fits
Form Fighter watches your throw, names one visible correction, shows evidence when the read is ready, and can run a live drill so your hands stay free. When evidence is weak, it marks the clip unreadable instead of guessing.

Safety
Form Fighter is a training aid. Scores are estimates from a phone camera and can be wrong — especially with poor lighting, framing, or angle. Warm up, clear space, and stop if something hurts. It does not diagnose injury or replace a qualified coach.
How can I get feedback on shadowboxing by myself?
Film short rounds or isolated reps with your full body in frame, review one visible pattern (path, return, guard, chamber, recovery), practice that one fix, then film again. A phone cannot measure power or whether a strike would land.
Is there an app that gives feedback on shadowboxing?
Form Fighter is built for that use case: standard 2D camera feedback on your own reps, one visible correction, then a live corrective drill. It is a training aid, not a human coach.
Can I improve shadowboxing without a partner?
Yes for visible solo mechanics — return to guard, straighter path, cleaner recovery. You still need partners or pads for timing, distance, and contact work.
